In Memoriam

Iain Kite

It is with great sadness that PFSC announces the passing of one of our beloved members, Iain Kite, on September 14, 2021.

Iain was a longtime member of the Pasadena Figure Skating Club. He began his skating career in Phoenix, AZ, and moved to Southern California shortly thereafter. He was the Novice Men Pacific Coast Sectional Champion in 1962, and the Southwest Pacific Junior Men Champion in 1964. Iain competed at the United States Figure Skating Championships in 1964, 1968 and 1969. After finishing his competitive career, Iain began a coaching career that would span decades.

As a past skating School Director at the Pasadena Ice Center, Iain had a passion for teaching Moves in the Field and Dance. His goal was to produce USFS Gold Medalists; a goal which he met and far exceeded. His students achieving their gold medal status are too numerous to count. Iain worked with many prominent skaters including National competitors and medalists from Thailand, the United States, US National Solo Dance Final, and the US Adult Championships.

He is survived by his wife, Suragni and son, Zachary.
