Support for Those Affected by the LA Wildfires
As many of you know, the Eaton Fire and surrounding wildfires have deeply affected our PFSC members. We wish to express our heartfelt and sincere condolences to those who have been affected.
National Skating Month activities planned for January 20th have been suspended.
At this time, PFSC wishes to provide the following to our members who have been impacted by the wildfires:
- Care package to help replace skating equipment and necessities;
- Waiver of testing fee for next 2 tests (skaters may choose to test in person or virtually);
- Discounted family membership fee (more information will be sent to the impacted families at a later date when we approach membership renewal in June).
Many of you have reached out offering to help our families who’ve suffered losses in the fires. If you are a PFSC member who needs to fulfill volunteer hours, you may fulfill your volunteer hour requirement in full by donating $50 to PFSC. The funds collected will go towards purchasing items to create care packages for the families in need.
Our home rink, Pasadena Ice Skating Center, will also be accepting skating-related donations of gently used ice skates, athletic wear, skating attire, and winter weather wear. Please contact Pasadena Ice Skating Center (626-578-0800, [email protected]) directly if you wish to donate items.
If you are a family that has been impacted, please fill out this survey. All information collected in the survey will only be used by PFSC in our efforts to help our skating families.
We hope that you and your loved ones can find some peace and joy on the ice.
